Azerbaijan, Ukraine discuss expansion of economic cooperation
Azerbaijan and Ukraine have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic ties during high-level discussions in Baku.
Deputy Minister Anar Akhundov met with Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleksandr Mishchenko to discuss the expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijan Ministry of Economy.
The meeting focused on key areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, and economic collaboration. Both sides exchanged views on pressing issues related to bilateral economic relations and explored opportunities for further partnership.
A day earlier, on February 20, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Deputy Minister Mishchenko to discuss pressing issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as the broader regional situation. The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both nations to upholding sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of borders in accordance with international law.
The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s ongoing support in the reconstruction of conflict-affected regions in Ukraine and the humanitarian aid extended to the Ukrainian people.
On the same day, the Foreign Ministries of both countries conducted political consultations, led by Azerbaijani Deputy Minister Samir Sharifov and Ukrainian Deputy Minister Oleksandr Mishchenko. The consultations covered regional and global issues of mutual interest, further strengthening diplomatic ties between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
