Azerbaijan, UN explore deeper cooperation at WUF13
Azerbaijan and the United Nations have discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in key areas, including sustainable development, green energy, and regional connectivity, during meetings held on the sidelines of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13).
The talks took place between First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Elnur Aliyev and United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Both sides highlighted Azerbaijan’s progress in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), noting ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening economic resilience and sustainability frameworks.
Discussions focused on initiatives related to green energy transition, sustainable urban development, and broader regional economic cooperation.
Particular attention was given to Azerbaijan’s efforts to enhance transport and logistics infrastructure, to strengthen regional trade links and economic integration.
Azerbaijan also presented a range of projects designed to support regional economic connectivity and contribute to global sustainability objectives.
