Azerbaijan, US highlight expanding energy cooperation
President of SOCAR, Rovshan Najaf, met with Rebecca Neff of the United States Department of State and Sara Lemming, Country Manager at the US Trade and Development Agency, on April 15 to discuss bilateral energy cooperation.
According to SOCAR, both sides expressed satisfaction with the long-standing partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States in the energy sector, emphasising its continued strategic importance, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Participants highlighted the recent signing of the Strategic Partnership Charter between Azerbaijan and the United States in February as a milestone for bilateral relations, noting its potential to deepen cooperation across multiple areas, particularly in energy.
The discussions underscored broad prospects for expanding collaboration, including ongoing partnerships between SOCAR and U.S. companies across various segments of the energy industry.
The meeting also focused on regional energy infrastructure, with both sides stressing the importance of the TRIPP project and existing transport and energy routes along the Middle Corridor as key drivers of regional connectivity and cooperation.
Officials said the talks included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening economic and strategic ties.
