Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have agreed to deepen their agricultural collaboration, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding joint research and development efforts.
During a bilateral meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, highlighted the importance of the partnership.
“We discussed the current state of existing cooperation and the work carried out in the Friendship Garden,” he said in a post on X.
The ministers also explored opportunities for joint exports of agricultural products to third countries, alongside support from Azerbaijani specialists in agricultural insurance for Uzbekistan. “These discussions pave the way for stronger economic ties and knowledge sharing between our countries,” Mammadov added.
As part of the event, a formal MoU was signed between the Agrarian Research Centre of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture and the Agrarian Science and Innovation Centre of Uzbekistan.
“We believe that the signed document will make a significant contribution to the further expansion and deepening of cooperation in the field of agricultural research between the countries,” Mammadov wrote.
