Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan to exchange experience in tax sphere

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have discussed the issues of risk management, use of information systems in tax administration, integration with databases of other government agencies to obtain the necessary information, administration of value added tax and other issues.

According to Report with reference to the Ministry of Economy, these issues were discussed at the meeting of the Head of the State Tax Service (STS) under the Ministry of Economy Orkhan Nazarli with a delegation led by First Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Mubin Mirzayev who is visiting Azerbaijan.

The meeting also focused on the exchange of experience between the two countries in the tax sphere.

Nazarli noted that the two countries face economic challenges and informed the Uzbek delegation about the ongoing work in the tax system of Azerbaijan, the innovations implemented. During the meeting, mechanisms of control in the field of business tax obligations, use of tax tools aimed at reducing the "shadow economy", tax control measures applied to businesses with high tax risk, the possibility of sharing experience in the identification and elimination of common tax evasion schemes were pointed out.

At the meeting it was decided to deepen cooperation between the tax services of the countries, expand ties in the exchange of information and experience.
