Azerbaijan, World Bank discuss expansion of cooperation PHOTO

Azerbaijan and the World Bank (WB) have discussed the expansion of cooperation.

A Road Map developed to expand cooperation with the WB was discussed at a meeting with Regional Director for Sustainable Development at the WB’s Europe and Central Asia region Sameh Wahba at the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry, Caliber.Az reports citing the Economy Ministry.

The meeting participants were informed about “green” and sustainable cities, digitalisation, development of the shipbuilding industry, expansion of the use of renewable energy sources, employment support and other projects.

In turn, Sameh Wahba expressed gratification with the cooperation between the WB and Azerbaijan. He noted that the Road Map developed to expand cooperation will strengthen the partnership. The regional director congratulated Azerbaijan as the host of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

Moreover, the views on various spheres of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the WB were exchanged. The programmes and future projects being implemented by the WB in Azerbaijan, especially in such fields as urban, water management and agriculture, were discussed at the meeting.
