Azerbaijani CEC's head briefs OSCE ODIHR members on upcoming presidential elections
Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov has met with representatives of the Needs Assessment Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE ODIHR).
Panahov welcomed the representatives of the mission Martina Barker-Ciganikova and Goran Petrov, noting that the CEC of Azerbaijan is always open to cooperation, APA informs, citing the Media and Communications Department of the CEC Secretariat.
The mission’s representatives inquired about the country's electoral system and the principles of work of the election commissions, the work done to clarify the voter lists, as well as the preparations for the extraordinary presidential elections scheduled for February 7, 2024.
Panahov talked about consistent, systematic and intensive steps taken to ensure that the upcoming elections are prepared at a high level and held freely, fairly and transparently, adding that polling stations have been established in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
