Over 3,000 people evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan in one month photo
A total of 3,040 people have been evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan between February 28 and March 27, according to local media.
Among those evacuated were 516 Azerbaijani citizens, while the majority consisted of foreign nationals from a wide range of countries.
The largest group was from China, with 723 evacuees, followed by 343 citizens of Russia. Other significant numbers included 198 from Bangladesh, 187 from Tajikistan, 184 from India, and 148 from Pakistan.
Evacuations also included 80 citizens of Oman and 68 from Indonesia, as well as 57 Iranian nationals. European countries were also represented, including Italy (44), Spain (26), Germany (24), France (19), Poland (13), Switzerland (13), and Hungary (12).
North American evacuees included 24 citizens of Canada and 11 from the United States, while 30 people were evacuated from Algeria and 13 from Nigeria. Additional evacuees included 19 citizens of Georgia, 16 from Uzbekistan, 13 from Kazakhstan, 12 from Bahrain, 11 from Mexico, and 18 each from Saudi Arabia and Japan.
The report also noted that at least one individual was evacuated from more than 30 other countries. These include the United Kingdom, Belarus, Türkiye, Ukraine, Australia, Norway, Tunisia, and the Vatican.
