Russia hails Azerbaijan for smooth transit of humanitarian aid to Iran
The Russian Embassy in Baku has highlighted the high level of inter-agency cooperation with Azerbaijani authorities, which allowed humanitarian aid from Russia to reach Iran quickly and efficiently.
Roman Popov, Head of the Consular Section at the embassy, expressed gratitude to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Customs Committee, the State Border Service, and the Transport Agency for their support, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Today, the second and third batches of humanitarian shipments were delivered: 300 tonnes of medical supplies transported via Russian railways, as well as 150 tonnes of food provided by the government of the Republic of Dagestan,” Popov told Azerbaijani journalists. “The first batch was delivered on March 12, including about 29 tonnes of medical supplies. I want to highlight the high level of inter-agency cooperation and thank all parties for ensuring the cargo crossed the border without obstacles. The operations were organised efficiently and smoothly.”
