Azerbaijan’s presidential aide discusses security, cooperation at OTS meeting in Budapest
A high-level meeting of aides to heads of state and government of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Budapest at the invitation of the Hungarian side, focusing on strengthening cooperation amid growing global challenges.
The development was announced by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, in a post on X.
According to Hajiyev, participants reviewed the outcomes of the recent Gabala Summit of the Organization of Turkic States and exchanged views on the organisation’s future agenda. In line with Azerbaijan’s current chairmanship priorities, particular attention was paid to enhancing cooperation in the field of security against the backdrop of evolving geopolitical risks.
“As President Ilham Aliyev has emphasized in previous OTS Summits, the Turkic world—through its young demography, rich natural resources, energy potential, and strategic geopolitical position, including key transport routes—holds significant place in the Eurasian continent and the OTS has evolved into an important geopolitical center,” he said.
