Azerbaijan-Türkiye ties help mitigate regional risks, pundit says
Close ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are playing a key role in maintaining stability in the region, according to Professor Mehmet Akif Kireçci, a member of the Security and Foreign Policy Council under the President of Türkiye.
In an interview with APA, Kireçci highlighted that the ongoing US–Iran–Israel war has the potential to affect both countries, making peace a top priority for Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports.
“The friendship and brotherhood between the two countries create an important balance in the region. This must be especially emphasized. The existence of direct and close relations between the two leaders, beyond formal procedures, prevents many risks. During sudden developments, rapid communication and a mechanism of mutual trust bring the countries even closer to each other despite crises,” he said.
According to Kireçci, direct communication between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye during sudden developments has been instrumental in preventing potential crises and maintaining regional stability.
