Russia sends humanitarian aid to Iran via Azerbaijan PHOTO
A train from Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) carrying humanitarian aid for Iran has arrived at the Garadag station of the Azerbaijani Railways, according to local media outlet Report.
The cargo, primarily consisting of medical supplies, weighs more than 300 tons. From Garadag, the aid will be transported to Iran using Iranian trucks.
Earlier, on March 12, over 13 tons of humanitarian assistance, including medicines and medical equipment, were sent from Russia to Iran, transiting through Azerbaijan.
The aid comes amid heightened tensions in the region. On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, prompting retaliatory missile strikes by Iran on Israeli and U.S. military bases in several Middle Eastern countries.
