Azerbaijan, Northern Cyprus discuss expanding political, cultural cooperation
Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Prime Minister Unal Ustel of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on June 13 to discuss the development of bilateral relations and cooperation within the Turkic world.
According to Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers, the two leaders reviewed the growing frequency of high-level contacts between Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus and discussed efforts to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The sides also emphasised the importance of cultural and humanitarian exchanges, highlighting the recent Northern Cyprus Culture Days held in Baku as a reflection of expanding ties between the two communities.
During the meeting, Asadov and Ustel welcomed ongoing cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), where Northern Cyprus participates as an observer. They noted the positive contribution of this engagement to broader regional cooperation and discussed opportunities to deepen collaboration in various sectors.
