German envoy hails Baku–Yerevan peace talks as major achievement
The peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia has been the most significant development in the South Caucasus in recent years, Ralf Horlemann, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan, has stated.
During a farewell meeting with Azerbaijani journalists, he said the resolution of the conflict and the subsequent launch of preparations for a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan represent an important achievement for both sides, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“This is truly major progress and an important achievement,” the ambassador noted.
He added that supporting the peace process was one of his key priorities during his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
According to him, achieving lasting peace serves not only the interests of Azerbaijan and Armenia but also the wider region, opening new opportunities for economic cooperation and the development of trade links between Asia and Europe.
