Envoy: Hundreds of Ukrainian children received rehabilitation in Azerbaijan PHOTO

Azerbaijan has provided rehabilitation and humanitarian assistance to hundreds of Ukrainian children affected by the war, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev said during a ceremony honouring young Ukrainians for acts of courage.

Speaking at the “Child Heroes” event organised by Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mardaliyev said Azerbaijan has supported Ukraine since the early stages of the conflict through humanitarian aid, reconstruction efforts, demining initiatives, and energy-sector assistance, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

He emphasised that one of the key areas of cooperation has been the medical and psychological rehabilitation of Ukrainian children.

“Already, 630 Ukrainian children deprived of parental care have received high-quality rehabilitation services in Azerbaijan, fully funded by our country,” Mardaliyev said.

He added that the Azerbaijani and Ukrainian interior ministries maintain close cooperation in implementing these programs.

Ukraine’s Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko, praised the resilience and bravery of Ukrainian children, telling attendees that “heroism knows no age.”

“We are proud of our children. Your heroism is proof that the Ukrainian people have a bright future,” Klymenko said. “Our country will develop even further thanks to heroic children like you.”

The minister also thanked Azerbaijan for its support during what he described as a difficult period for Ukraine.

The event concluded with awards and gifts presented to the honoured children on behalf of the Azerbaijani government, recognising their courage and contributions during the war.
