Nearly 3,000 people evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan since Mideast escalation
From February 28 (08:00) to March 22 (10:00), a total of 2,921 people have been evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan.
According to local media, 486 of those evacuated were Azerbaijani citizens.
Additionally, citizens of several other countries were evacuated, including China (722), Russia (323), Bangladesh (198), Tajikistan (187), Pakistan (148), India (142), Oman (80), Indonesia (68), Iran (53), Italy (44), Algeria (30), Spain (26), Germany (23), Canada (22), France (19), Saudi Arabia (18), Japan (18), Georgia (17), Uzbekistan (15), Poland (13), Switzerland (13), Nigeria (13), Hungary (12), Bahrain (12), Kazakhstan (11), Mexico (11), the United States (11), as well as the United Kingdom, Belarus, Bulgaria, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (10 each).
Also among the evacuees were citizens of Brazil and Sudan (8 each); Slovakia, Belgium, Romania, and the UAE (6 each); Serbia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Afghanistan, Australia, Austria, and Greece (5 each); Jordan, the Philippines, Türkiye, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Finland, and the Netherlands (4 each); Qatar, Croatia, Denmark, and Norway (3 each); Nepal, Lebanon, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Cyprus, Slovenia, Myanmar, and Vietnam (2 each).
Finally, one citizen each from Tunisia, South Africa, the Maldives, Cuba, Vatican City, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Egypt, Belize, and the Dominican Republic was evacuated.
