Azerbaijan city “streets” to be featured at World Urban Forum in Baku
Special attention will be given to Azerbaijani traditions of urban planning, and its “streets” will be on show at the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held at the Baku Olympic Stadium, said Adil Mammadov, executive director of the WUF13 operating company.
During a media briefing, he said the stadium venue has been divided into several thematic zones, with Zone A consisting of five streets, each named after different cities of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“More than 20 conferences will be held here,” Mammadov said.
He also noted that conditions have been created for foreign participants to join events online.
In addition, 14 rooms have been allocated for media representatives to facilitate live broadcasts.
“There are also two dialogue platforms on the site with a capacity of around 500 people,” the executive director added.
Mammadov stressed that forum events will be accompanied by simultaneous interpretation not only into the six official UN languages — Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish — but also into Azerbaijani and Turkish.
He added that more than 160 foreign interpreters have been invited to Azerbaijan to ensure translation services during the forum.
