Azerbaijani economy minister holds several meetings in Türkiye PHOTO

Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev during the first meeting of the ministers of industry, science, technology, and innovation of OTS.

During the meeting, the Azerbaijani side emphasised that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev places significant importance on cooperation with the OTS, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy told Caliber.Az.

Crucial role of OTS in effectively using the economic potential of Turkic states and advancing the implementation of joint projects was highlighted. The initiatives proposed by the OTS member states are aimed at addressing contemporary challenges in such areas as trade, energy, investment, and digitalization. These efforts contribute to strengthening regional cooperation and fostering sustainable economic development across the Turkic states.

The key spheres for expanding partnership include the establishment of a Turkic Investment Fund and Turkic Trade Houses, the simplification of trade procedures, the development of the digital economy, and the increase of investments. The sides also discussed issues of mutual interest aimed at strengthening economic partnership within OTS. During his visit to Istanbul, Jabbarov also held a meeting with Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir. 

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries across various sectors. To expand economic partnership, the discussion highlighted mutual investments, the exchange of experience in industry and technology, as well as the further strengthening of cooperation in other spheres. 

The importance of using existing opportunities to strengthen the economic unity of both countries was emphasised, along with the support for active cooperation within international organisations and the expansion of ties between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology. 

The sides exchanged views on expanding trade and economic relations, the involvement of Turkish entrepreneurs in new projects being implemented in Azerbaijan, and investments in industrial parks and zones.
