Polls have kicked off at the Azerbaijani embassies in Korea and China in snap presidential elections.
Voting began at the polling station established at the Azerbaijani Embassy in the Republic of Korea at 8:00 am local time (03:00 Baku time) as part of the Republic of Azerbaijan's early presidential elections.
Due to the time difference with Baku, it began with the precinct election commission created at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Seoul, Report informs.
Thus, the voting process, which will end at 19:00 local time, is carried out in line with the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Electoral Code and other legislative acts in this area.
The polling station is provided with the necessary visual aids, and a list of eligible voters has been compiled here. Citizens of Azerbaijan who have reached the age of 18 and have active voting rights take part in voting using a valid passport or identity card of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The necessary conditions have been created for the free expression of the will of voters.
In addition to the Azerbaijani citizens living in this country, eligible voters who, for various reasons, will be in Seoul on election day, will be able to vote at the polling station established at the Azerbaijani Embassy in the Republic of Korea.
In the same vein, the poll began at the Azerbaijani Embassy in China at 8:00 am local time in connection with the early presidential elections.
Voting is taking place at polling station No. 44 of the Yasamal second constituency No. 16, established at the embassy.
To ensure the electoral rights of Azerbaijani citizens living outside the country or on long-term business trips, in the early presidential elections - the first elections that will be held in the country after the restoration of the territorial integrity and state sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 49 electoral votes have been created in 37 countries plots.
According to the law, voting in the presidential election will begin at 08:00 and end at 19:00 according to the local time zones of the countries. Voting at polling stations established at diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan began at the embassy of the country in the Republic of Korea and will end at the US Consulate General in Los Angeles.
