Azerbaijani exclave parliament dissolved, snap elections scheduled  

The Supreme Majlis (parliament) of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) has been dissolved, and snap elections for the legislative body are scheduled for September 1.

The Speaker of the Supreme Majlis of the Autonomous Republic signed a corresponding order, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Under the decree, the extraordinary elections are scheduled for September 1, the same day as the elections to the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (parliament).

Today, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the dissolution of the VI convocation of the Milli Majlis and the appointment of extraordinary parliamentary elections. In keeping with the order, the elections will be held on September 1, 2024.
