Azerbaijani gas exports to Italy, Greece rise significantly

10 November 2025 11:32

On November 10, shipments of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) rose sharply, with a daily order of 367.02 million kWh at the Greek exit point in Kipi, marking a 4.91% increase compared with the same day last week.

According to TAP’s electronic platform, orders for daily gas deliveries through Kipi from November 11 to 16 are expected to average 348.02 million kWh, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

This represents a slight decline of 0.53% from the November 4–6 orders, 0.54% lower than 7 November, and a 5.18% decrease compared with November 8–9.

At the Greek exit points of Komotini and Nea-Mesembria, daily orders from November 10 to 16 are projected at 28.67 million kWh and 30.35 million kWh, respectively, remaining consistent with last week’s figures.

Meanwhile, at the Italian exit point in Melendugno, daily orders on November 10 reached 288.33 million kWh, up 6.48% from the previous Monday (November 3). Orders from November 11 to 16 are expected to average 287.01 million kWh, slightly below levels recorded from 4 to 7 November, and 6.51% lower than 8–9 November.

TAP is a key component of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), stretching 878 km in total, with 550 km across northern Greece, 215 km through Albania, 105 km under the Adriatic Sea, and 8 km within Italy.

Gas deliveries from Azerbaijan to consumers in Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria via TAP began on December 31, 2020. Under agreements between Azerbaijan and the European Union, supplies are expected to reach at least 16 billion cubic metres annually by 2027.

In 2024, TAP transported a total of 11.84 billion cubic metres of gas, including 9.84 billion cubic metres to Italy, 1.1 billion cubic metres to Greece, and 0.82 billion cubic metres to Bulgaria.
