Azerbaijani minister discusses energy cooperation with ExxonMobil vice president PHOTO
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has held a meeting with ExxonMobil Vice President John Ardill to discuss cooperation in the field of energy.
“During our meeting with John Ardill, Vice President of ExxonMobil, we discussed our longstanding partnership with the company and explored opportunities to further expand collaboration in the energy sector,” Caliber.Az quotes Jabbarov as saying on his X page.
ExxonMobil has been actively engaged in Azerbaijan's energy sector for decades, notably participating in the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil fields and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.
The company is exploring new avenues of collaboration with Azerbaijan. In this vein, on March 18, 2025, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister, Parviz Shahbazov, met with John Ardill, ExxonMobil's Vice President of Global Exploration, to discuss the Caspian Sea's wind energy potential. The discussions also covered ExxonMobil's initiatives to reduce methane emissions, electrify energy supplies in the hydrocarbon sector, and advance hydrogen development.
