Azerbaijani minister discusses strategic partnership with WB regional director PHOTO
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has met with a delegation led by Rolande Pryce, Regional Director for the South Caucasus at the World Bank (WB).
The sides discussed Azerbaijan's successful collaboration with the WB, acknowledging the technical and financial support provided by the WB to various projects, the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry informed Caliber.Az.
They also discussed the upcoming framework document for the WB Group's partnership with Azerbaijan for 2025-2029, as well as ongoing economic development initiatives. The meeting highlighted cooperation on renewable energy and the transition to a sustainable economy, emphasizing Azerbaijan's interest in related projects.
Azerbaijan and the World Bank have maintained a cooperative relationship focused on development and economic reforms since Azerbaijan joined the World Bank in 1992. The partnership has encompassed various sectors such as infrastructure development, agriculture, social services, and governance. The World Bank has provided financial assistance and technical expertise to support Azerbaijan's efforts in economic diversification, poverty reduction, and sustainable development. Projects have included initiatives in energy, education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, aligning with Azerbaijan's national development priorities and strategies.
