Azerbaijani minister discusses transport cooperation in Germany
Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev held a series of meetings with foreign officials, including Patrick Schnieder, Germany’s transport minister in Leipzig, during which the sides discussed transport cooperation.
Sharing a statement on Facebook, Nabiyev said they focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in the sector, particularly in road and air transport, Caliber.Az reports.
Nabiyev also met with Tatiana Molcean, Deputy Executive Secretary and Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
The sides discussed the current state of transport cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNECE, as well as future areas of development.
“We exchanged views on strengthening regional connectivity, expanding cooperation in digital transformation, and harmonising regulatory frameworks,” the statement said.
In addition, the Azerbaijani minister held talks with Borkhuu Delgersaikhan, Mongolia’s minister of roads and transport.
The parties discussed the expansion of transport cooperation between the two countries, especially in road and air transport.
“We signed the ‘Air Services Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Mongolia.’ This document will contribute to the development of economic and cultural ties between our countries, create favourable conditions for effective cooperation between airlines, and establish a solid legal framework for operating flights,” Nabiyev noted.
