Azerbaijani minister highlights role of industrial zones in economic diversification
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, recently shared a detailed post on social media platform X, pointing out the pivotal role of industrial zones in the country’s efforts to diversify its economy.
In a post, Jabbarov emphasized the importance of developing industrial zones as part of Azerbaijan’s broader strategy to reduce dependence on oil and gas exports and foster sustainable economic growth, Caliber.Az reports.

“Industrial zones play a pivotal role in diversifying Azerbaijan’s economy by attracting investments, generating employment, enhancing local production and exports, and fostering innovation.
Between 2021 and 2024, entrepreneurs invested approximately 748 mln. manats in the industrial zones managed by the Economic Zones Development Agency, leading to the creation of 865 permanent jobs. Over this period, total product sales reached 11.68 bln. manats, with exports amounting to 4.08 bln. manats," the post reads.
