Azerbaijani public boycotts Iranian embassy's event No provocation will go unnoticed
On February 10, the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan was planning to organise an event to mark the forty-fourth anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution - the main holiday of the clerical regime. For this purpose, premises in one of the most famous and expensive hotels in Baku were rented in advance, and various snacks were bought in large quantities. By tradition, invitations were sent out to state agencies, the media, members of the Milli Mejlis, and the embassies of some states. However, exactly one day before the event, the Iranian embassy suddenly cancelled the celebration.
Although no explanation has been given by the Iranian diplomatic mission, the reason for the cancellation became known to Caliber.Az. According to our information, literally, no one responded to the embassy's invitation. In other words, the Azerbaijani public completely ignored the invitations of Iranians to the event. Faced with numerous refusals, the IRI ambassador had no choice but to cancel the event.
We think this is more than a clear message to Iran, which is working hard to carry out more and more provocations against Azerbaijan. And the ignored celebration of the 44th anniversary of the coup in Baku is the reaction of the Azerbaijani people, which fits into the logic of bilateral relations spoiled by the fault of the Iranian side.
There is no doubt that until Iran abandons its vehement anti-Azerbaijani policy and rhetoric, officially apologizes to the Azerbaijani people for the attack on the embassy, punishes the perpetrators, and stops flirting with Armenia in order to spite Azerbaijan, Iranians should not even dream of celebrating their holidays in our country. No one needs them here.
