Azerbaijani top official calls for stronger "regional ownership" in global security
Azerbaijani Presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev has said that “regional ownership” is becoming a strategic necessity in a world marked by rising polarisation and declining trust in international relations.
In a post on X following his participation at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Hajiyev said regional cooperation must be based on shared responsibility and inclusivity, Caliber.Az reports.
“In an era of growing polarization and declining trust in international relations, regional ownership has become a strategic necessity and responsibility. For us it also consists of regional leadership, regional inclusivity and shared regional responsibility,” he wrote.

He highlighted Azerbaijan’s long-standing approach to building structured regional partnerships, describing them as key to stability and economic development.
"Azerbaijan has been a firm advocate of regional ownership from the very beginning. From the Azerbaijan-Türkiye partnership as a cornerstone of regional security, to expanded formats such as Azerbaijan–Georgia-Türkiye, Azerbaijan-Iran-Türkiye and broader engagements with neighboring regions, these efforts reflect how institutionalized regional cooperation can deliver stability and prosperity," he added.
