Azerenerji to build new substation in Lachin worth over $3 million
Azerbaijani state energy company Azerenerji has engaged Smart Energy Services LLC to construct a new 35/0.4 kV substation and control centre in the city of Lachin, as well as to install the necessary equipment.
The contract with the company is valued at 5.251 million manats (over $3.1 million), Caliber.Az reports per state agency.
To recap, in 2023, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the reconstructed "Meydan" Small Hydroelectric Power Station in the Kalbajar district.
Initially destroyed by Armenians, the 3.4 MW station has been rebuilt by Azerenerji, now upgraded to meet modern digital standards. Enhancements include a SCADA control system and integration with the national power grid. With these updates, the station’s annual production capacity has reached 10 million kWh.
