Azerbaijan’s Baku to become hub for global investment talks
Executive Director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Azerbaijan Republic (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdullayev has said that Baku will host an international investment forum this June, bringing together key stakeholders from multiple countries to discuss opportunities for growth and cooperation.
"We are planning to organise an international investment forum in Baku this June, with participation of representatives from several countries. The forum will be held in partnership with the Italian organisation, The European House – Ambrosetti," Abdullayev said during the Azerbaijan-Moldova Business Forum, Caliber.Az reports.
The event is expected to feature a diverse range of participants, with around 10 Moldovan companies joining over 30 Azerbaijani firms representing key sectors, including retail, agriculture, alcohol and tobacco production, and various industries. Abdullayev emphasised the forum's role as an essential platform for fostering business connections, exchanging expertise, and exploring potential collaborations.
Additionally, Abdullayev highlighted the existing collaboration between AZPROMO and Invest Moldova, underpinned by a Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement aims to boost foreign investments in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector and promote the export of Azerbaijani products.
"We continue to make progress in strengthening our cooperation," Abdullayev said. "During a recent meeting with the Moldovan delegation, including Mr. Garaz and Ms. Bejan, we discussed in-depth potential areas of collaboration, particularly in investment promotion and the creation of support mechanisms. We also focused on leveraging our countries' geographic advantages to increase mutual trade turnover."
