Baku, Algiers explore closer economic ties, energy cooperation
Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Yusif Abdullayev, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Algeria to the country, Zakia Ighil, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides underlined the strategic importance of diversifying energy resources and advancing the renewable energy sector, noting that while the energy industry remains a cornerstone of both economies, there is shared commitment to embracing sustainable alternatives, Caliber.Az reports, citing AZPROMO.
The discussions focused on expanding economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria, with particular emphasis on areas of mutual interest. According to AZPROMO, the parties agreed to explore concrete initiatives aimed at deepening cooperation and fostering investment opportunities.
The meeting marks a step forward in Azerbaijan and Algeria’s efforts to broaden economic engagement beyond hydrocarbons, aligning with global trends in energy transition and economic diversification.
