Baku, Astana continue talks on eliminating double taxation

16 September 2025 16:03

Regular negotiations were held in Astana on the draft Convention between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Kazakhstan concerning the elimination of double taxation on income and property, as well as the prevention of tax evasion.

According to Caliber.Az, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan reported that the two sides reached an agreement on the majority of provisions in the draft Convention relating to taxation.

“The discussions took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, and both sides agreed to intensify efforts to resolve the remaining outstanding issues as soon as possible,” the State Tax Service said in its statement.

As part of the Azerbaijani delegation’s visit, a meeting was also held with authorised representatives of Kazakhstan’s National Revenue Committee. During this meeting, the parties exchanged views on transfer pricing.

“During the discussions, the experience of both countries in the field of transfer pricing was reviewed, and an agreement was reached to strengthen cooperation between the relevant agencies in this area in the future,” the State Tax Service added.
