Baku, Bern explore deeper financial sector ties
The central banks of Azerbaijan and Switzerland have discussed opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation during a meeting held in Tashkent.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, cited by local media, a delegation led by First Deputy Chairman Aliyar Mammadov met with a Swiss delegation on the sidelines of a visit to Uzbekistan’s capital.
Participants in the talks included Swiss National Bank Chairman Martin Schlegel, State Secretary at the State Secretariat for International Financial Matters Christoph König, and State Secretary for Economic Affairs Pietro Lazzari.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation and discussed global and regional economic developments, the macroeconomic environment, and trends in the financial sector.
