Azerbaijan and Moldova held talks on deepening cooperation in the field of taxation during the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), currently underway in Baku.

According to the State Tax Service (STS) of Azerbaijan, the head of the agency, Orkhan Nazarli, met with his Moldovan counterpart, Olga Golban, on the sidelines of the event, Caliber.Az reports, referring to domestic media.

The discussions focused on expanding bilateral collaboration in tax administration and exploring shared interests, particularly in the use of digital solutions, risk-based approaches, and improved tax control mechanisms.

Nazarli highlighted that the mutual exchange of experience and information could significantly contribute to the sustainable development of both countries' tax systems.

Golban, for her part, expressed Moldova’s interest in the modern approaches and management practices that have been implemented in Azerbaijan’s tax administration.
