Baku's airport named best in Central Asia, CIS at Skytrax 2026
Heydar Aliyev International Airport has once again confirmed its status as a leading aviation hub in the region, winning the prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards 2026 in the category of “Best Airport in Central Asia and the CIS,” the airport’s press service said.
The award was presented on March 18 in London during the Passenger Terminal Expo World (PTE World), Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The World Airport Awards are considered among the most respected accolades in the global aviation industry, determined through the largest annual independent passenger survey. Since 1999, the survey has assessed service quality at over 565 airports worldwide.
Evaluations cover all key stages of the passenger experience, from check-in and security screening to transit areas, retail and service facilities, and boarding processes.
The airport noted that regularly receiving this award reflects its high service standards, sustainable development strategy, and leadership position in the region. Its modern infrastructure, passenger-centric approach, and adoption of innovative technologies reinforce Heydar Aliyev International Airport’s status as one of the key aviation hubs in Central Asia and the CIS.
