Baku set to host first-ever D8 energy ministers’ meeting in Baku
Azerbaijan will host a meeting of energy ministers from D8 member states for the first time in its history, during which the charter of the D8 Climate and Energy Centre, headquartered in Baku, will be unveiled.
Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov announced the development during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Shahbazov said the inaugural ministerial meeting is scheduled to take place in Baku in two weeks.
“The charter of the D8 Climate and Energy Centre will be presented. The centre, whose headquarters will be located in Baku, will serve as a regional platform for sustainable energy projects in D8 countries and will play a catalytic role in renewable energy, energy efficiency and other climate-resilient initiatives,” the minister said.
