Baku signs MoU to power WUF13 with green energy
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Baku between the Azerbaijan Operating Company of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) and Azerenerji JSC to provide sustainable energy for the event.
The agreement was signed by Baba Rzayev, Chairman of Azerenerji JSC, and Adil Mammadov, Executive Director of the Operating Company, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The MoU aims to ensure that the forum venue is powered by green energy during WUF13. The initiative is intended to support the forum’s carbon management and reduction commitments, while also minimising the environmental impact of energy consumption.
The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), convened by UN-Habitat, will be held in Baku from May 17 to 22, bringing together policymakers, urban planners, development experts and civil society representatives from around the world to discuss sustainable urbanisation and the future of cities.
