Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway capacity to triple by 2034, says Turkish MFA

The cargo capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway is expected to increase from the current 5 million tons per year to 17 million tons annually by 2034, Turhan Dilmah, the head of a department at Center for Strategic Studies under Türkiye's Foreign Ministry.
said during the 13th session of the CICA Think Tank Forum, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Dilmah noted that Türkiye will continue to strengthen cooperation with Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries to expand the potential of the Middle Corridor.
He emphasised that the Middle Corridor aligns naturally with the “Belt and Road” initiative, and Ankara has given special attention to the project from its inception.
