Baku, Tehran agree to accelerate key energy initiatives

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, held talks with Farzaneh Sadegh, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, focusing on deepening bilateral energy cooperation.

The meeting emphasized the strong growth of Azerbaijan-Iran relations across all sectors and highlighted the critical role of the energy industry in bilateral partnership, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy.

“During the meeting, joint projects were discussed, including the implementation of the Khudafarin, Giz Galasi, and Ordubad hydropower projects, as well as electricity exports. An agreement was reached to strengthen joint efforts to accelerate the implementation of projects on the agenda,” the ministry noted.
