Baku, Tehran eye urban planning cooperation after WUF13, says envoy
After the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Azerbaijan and Iran could explore potential cooperation in urban planning, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mojtaba Demirchilou told Report.
He said the Iranian delegation is actively taking part in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13):
"The delegation is speaking at various panels. I think this forum is of great importance. It is a significant event for the entire region, including Azerbaijan and Iran. Bilateral relations with various countries are being discussed at the forum."
The ambassador added that the Iranian delegation is also engaged in awareness-raising initiatives related to urban development activities in Iran.
Mojtaba Damirchilou further noted that an Urban Planning Committee previously existed within the economic commission between Iran and Azerbaijan: "Cooperation was carried out within this framework. I think that after the forum, Azerbaijan and Iran can revisit this issue and discuss continuing cooperation in the field of urban planning."
The Iranian pavilion is also on display at the Urban Expo, which is being held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku. The pavilion is dedicated to the city of Minab.
During the US-Israel and Iran war, more than 100 people were killed in an attack on a school located in the city of Minab.
