Baku to host meeting of Azerbaijani-Turkish commission on economic cooperation

21 December 2025 13:23

Baku will host the 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan said.

The session is scheduled for December 22–23. A Turkish delegation led by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will participate, while Azerbaijan will be represented by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, per Caliber.Az.

The commission will discuss steps toward achieving the goal set by the presidents of both countries to increase bilateral trade to $15 billion.

In parallel, the II Azerbaijan-Türkiye Investment Forum will be held in Baku, aiming to deepen economic ties, bring together business communities, and develop joint investment opportunities. Additionally, a meeting of Turkish and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs is planned under the framework of MÜSİAD.

According to official data, Türkiye has long been one of Azerbaijan’s main trading partners. In 2024, Turkish exports to Azerbaijan totalled $3.1 billion, while imports from Azerbaijan reached $4.8 billion. Türkiye currently ranks second among countries to which Azerbaijan exports and third for imports.

The 11th meeting of the commission was held in May of last year in Ankara.
