Baku, Washington discuss Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agenda Phone talk between top Azerbaijani, US officials
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and US Assistant Secretary of State Karen Donfried have discussed a peace agenda with Armenia.
In a telephone conversation on September 5, the two officials focused on the regional situation, efforts to normalise Azerbaijani-Armenian relations and issues on the bilateral agenda, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry press service reports.
Bayramov touched on the recent meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, EU Council President Charles Michel and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, held in Brussels on August 31, 2022. Following the meeting's outcome, the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers were instructed to prepare draft texts of the peace agreement.
The minister also informed the senior US official that Azerbaijan is taking consistent steps to promote the peace agenda.
During the telephone conversation, the sides also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
