Baykar receives official licence to begin operations in Azerbaijan
On March 13, Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence Industry, Vagif Mustafaev, met with Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar, presenting him with a special licence to begin operations for Bayraktar Teknoloji Azerbaijan.
The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Baykar to further develop the country's defence industry, Caliber.Az reports per Ministry of Defence Industry.
Notably, Baykar Teknoloji, often referred to simply as Baykar, is a Turkish aerospace company that designs and manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones. It is best known for developing the Bayraktar TB2, a highly effective and widely used tactical drone.
Baykar has gained international recognition for its role in advancing drone technology, and its UAVs have been deployed in various military conflicts, enhancing Türkiye's defense capabilities. In addition to military drones, Baykar also focuses on developing autonomous systems and other advanced aerospace technologies.
The company’s products have been pivotal in elevating Türkiye’s status in the global drone market, with exports to various countries, particularly in regions like the Middle East and North Africa.
