Beijing pauses dual-use export restrictions following US negotiations
Beijing has temporarily suspended a string of restrictions introduced earlier this year on the supply of dual-use goods to 31 US companies, primarily from the defence and aerospace sectors.
The American corporations had earlier been included in a blacklist that prohibited Chinese manufacturers from supplying them with those goods that crucially included rare earth minerals, Caliber.Az reports citing Chinese state agency Xinhua.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the one-year suspension of those restrictions, effective from November 10, follows an agreement reached during the China–US trade negotiations in Kuala Lumpur.
Chinese companies intending to export dual-use goods to these American firms must first apply for relevant documentation to the ministry to be granted authorisation for the sale.
