Bike paths being fenced off in centre of Baku PHOTO/Map
Barriers are being installed to fence new bike lanes on Istiglaliyat Street and Azerbaijan Avenue in the Sabail and Yasamal districts of Baku.
Their total length is about 1.5 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports.
Bike paths are laid on the right side of the road at the expense of the car lane and are marked not only by ground markings but also by barriers.
The bike path stretches from the Ichari Shahar (Old Town) metro station and the Baku Executive Authority building down towards the monument to outstanding Azerbaijani satirical poet Mirza Alakbar Sabir and further from the Monolith building to the building of the Interior Ministry of Azerbaijan and the Central Department Store, and then to the Beshmartaba Circle and Winter Boulevard, Bulbul Street and National Seaside Park (Baku Boulevard).
