Oil price fluctuations do not affect investment strategy, bp says
British Petroleum’s (bp) Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, Gio Cristofoli, has stated that short-term fluctuations in oil prices do not impact the company’s investment strategy.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of Baku Energy Week, he said oil prices for 2026 have risen above earlier forecasts but have not led to any changes in bp’s plans, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
According to him, bp makes investment decisions not based on short-term price fluctuations, but on a long-term capital allocation strategy.
“We operate within a capital budget set at the beginning of the year. Therefore, changes in oil prices do not alter our investment plans,” Cristofoli noted.
He emphasised that the company follows a long-term planning framework, meaning its investment decisions are guided by annual capital budgets rather than short-term market volatility.
