British tourist "killed for her body parts to be used in witchcraft" — report PHOTO
A British tourist was killed while holidaying in South Africa so her body could be used in a witchcraft ritual, The Metro reports, citing investigators.
Lorna Maxorly and her partner Leon Probert visited the country for a two-week holiday last September. During the day, they went for a walk to enjoy the local scenery and wildlife. After about half an hour, Probert decided to return, while Maxorly continued toward a lake with a map.

Locals on a nearby farm said the woman had asked them for directions but appeared “relaxed.” Probert began searching for Maxorly about thirty minutes after she was supposed to return. Farmers, volunteers, dogs, boats, and drones joined the search but found no trace of her.
Authorities suspect that Maxorly may have been killed as part of a traditional witchcraft ritual known locally as Muti. These practices involve creating remedies from plants and natural ingredients, which can sometimes include human body parts.
According to investigators, ritual practitioners do not gather ingredients themselves but rely on a network of scouts. A market selling such remedies was located near where the British tourists were staying, the report adds.
