BSTDB members to spotlight Azerbaijan's business opportunities at Baku forum

Member countries of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) will explore Azerbaijan's business potential and investment opportunities at a forum in Baku, the bank's president said.

The event, titled "Connecting Markets, Diversifying Economies: Azerbaijan as a Regional Hub", will take place on the sidelines of the BSTDB's 28th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors, which is being hosted by Azerbaijan, local media reports.

Speaking at the governors' meeting, BSTDB President Serhat Köksal said the forum would highlight Azerbaijan's business environment and economic opportunities to participants from across the bank's member states.

"We hope to use it as a model for further efforts to raise the bank's visibility across the region," Köksal said, referring to a business development event held by the lender in Chișinău, Moldova, in September last year.

He said the bank aims to increase awareness among financial institutions, businesses and public agencies about the financing options it offers, positioning itself as an alternative and responsive source of funding for companies seeking to expand.

"The business forum, 'Connecting Markets, Diversifying Economies: Azerbaijan as a Regional Hub', will be the next such event. We will focus on the business prospects and economic opportunities here in Azerbaijan," Köksal said.

He added that the BSTDB plans to organise similar business events in other member countries in the coming months as part of its efforts to strengthen regional engagement and promote investment opportunities.
