BTC pipeline ships 80.5 million barrels of crude through Türkiye in January–May
Oil shipments through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline declined during the first five months of 2026, according to data released by Turkish pipeline operator BOTAŞ.
Between January and May, the pipeline transported 80.536 million barrels of crude oil through Türkiye, down 7.975 million barrels, or 9%, compared with the same period in 2025, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
In May alone, throughput totaled 16.524 million barrels, a decrease of 1.233 million barrels, or 6.9%, from May 2025.
The BTC pipeline, which carries crude oil from Azerbaijan's Caspian Sea fields through Georgia to Türkiye's Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, is one of the region's key energy export routes.
In 2025, the pipeline transported a total of 206.434 million barrels of crude oil, according to BOTAŞ.
