Caspian basin among world’s largest oil and gas regions — bp
The Caspian basin is one of the world’s largest oil and gas regions, Gio Cristofoli, bp’s Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye, said, as cited by Caliber.Az.
“The Caspian basin is one of the world’s largest oil and gas regions. We have world-class infrastructure here: offshore facilities, drilling platforms, the Sangachal terminal, and a pipeline system that can significantly diversify our export routes to Western markets. This infrastructure performs exceptionally well, with 99% reliability, which is the highest in the industry,” Cristofoli said on June 2 at the Baku Energy Forum.
According to him, from bp’s perspective, the company is increasingly turning Baku into a new Houston or a new Aberdeen.
“Azerbaijan has remarkable human capital. We are increasingly turning Baku into a new Houston or a new Aberdeen. Our specialists in drilling, subsurface operations, commercial and offshore construction support not only our business here but also many other areas of the company’s activities, both in oil and gas production and refining,” he added.
