Caspian Technical Conference SPE 2025 kicks off in Baku
The Caspian Technical Conference SPE 2025, organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), has officially begun in Baku.
This year’s conference is supported by the host, SOCAR, and carries the theme: “Learning from the Past, Renewing the Present, Inspiring the Future,” Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Over two days, participants will discuss topics such as digitalisation, the application of artificial intelligence, improving reservoir development efficiency, as well as safety and sustainable supply — key focus areas for the region’s energy sector.
The program includes an opening ceremony, presentation of regional SPE awards, two high-level plenary sessions, and more than twenty technical sessions. The conference will feature both practical case studies and analytical reports.
Speakers include representatives from leading international companies and educational centres. Simultaneously, a technology exhibition will showcase new tools, engineering solutions, and innovations shaping the future of the industry.
Founded in 1957, SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) is an international organisation with 132,000 members from 146 countries. SPE develops professional standards, creates educational programs, supports industry communities, and serves as a platform for knowledge exchange. The organisation maintains offices in Calgary, Dallas, Dubai, Houston, and Kuala Lumpur.
